Assumptions & Limits
- Preset values speed up the setup but do not replace final section or material verification.
- The page is designed for fast deflection and reaction checks.
- Local code rules, long-term effects, and connection details still need separate review.
Reference Basis
- Documentation: Methodology
- Documentation: Engineering Review
- Roark's Formulas for Stress and Strain

GL24h Glulam Reference
| Material class | GL24h glulam |
| Mean elastic modulus E0,mean | 11.5 GPa |
| Characteristic bending strength | 24 MPa |
| Typical density | 385 kg/m^3 |
| Example member | 135 x 400 mm glulam beam |
| Example inertia I | 28800 cm^4 |
| Preset loading | Full-span uniform load |
Engineering Notes
- GL24h glulam is commonly selected when timber aesthetics and longer clear spans are both important.
- This page uses a larger default beam than the C24 page because glulam members are often chosen for longer spans or more demanding architectural layouts.
- For real glulam design, moisture class, long-term deformation, lateral restraint, and connection detailing should all be checked separately.
