Module 5.0

System Response

This module covers the more coupled beam cases where restraint, continuity, and structural interaction change the response compared with a simple one-span member.

Fixed-Fixed Beam

Both ends restrained with fixed-end moments and elastic beam response.

Propped Cantilever

Fixed at one end, supported at the other, solved as an indeterminate beam.

2-Span Continuous

Two-span continuous beam with interior-support moments and elastic response.

3-Span Continuous

Three-span continuous beam with four supports and redistributed moments.

Module Scope
  • These tools are intended for cases where support restraint or continuity governs the result more than a single closed-form textbook equation.
  • They are the strongest fit when the structure is hyperstatic and the load path redistributes into internal supports or end fixities.
  • For early validation or quick comparisons, pair this section with the formulas page and the L/360 limit helper.
